Rhodiola rosea L- Standardized Extract on Passive Avoidance in Rats
Background: Rhodiola rosea L. originates from the plant family Crassulaceae and is known as an adaptogen increasing resistance to various stressors. The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of a commercially available standardized Rhodiola rosea L. extract administered intraperitoneally on cognitive processes in naive rats by using two passive avoidance tests. Methodology/Principal findi...

we studied the effects of adaptogens extracts of Siberian ginseng, Rhodiola rosea, bergenia, and ginseng and pantohematogen, on erythropoiesis after paradoxical sleep deprivation. Adaptogens stimulated bone marrow erythropoiesis in the early stage, but decreased the count of bone marrow erythrokaryocytes 3-7 days after treatment. The effect of adaptogens on erythropoiesis is associated with mod...
متن کاملRhodiola rosea L. as a putative botanical antidepressant.
BACKGROUND Rhodiola rosea (R. rosea) is a botanical adaptogen with putative anti-stress and antidepressant properties. Evidence-based data supporting the effectiveness of R. rosea for depression in adults is limited, and therefore a comprehensive review of available animal and human studies suggesting a putative antidepressant action is warranted. PURPOSE A review of the literature was undert...
متن کاملMonoamine oxidase inhibition by Rhodiola rosea L. roots.
AIM OF THE STUDY Rhodiola rosea L. (Crassulaceae) is traditionally used in Eastern Europe and Asia to stimulate the nervous system, enhance physical and mental performance, treat fatigue, psychological stress and depression. In order to investigate the influence of Rhodiola rosea L. roots on mood disorders, three extracts were tested against monoamine oxidases (MAOs A and B) in a microtitre pla...
